Professional Profile
Dr. Suarez is a National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Research Service Award (NRSA) fellow recipient and has recorded multiple publications in top-tier scientific journals and edited volumes. His tenures include the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Center for AIDS Intervention Research. He held an adjunct faculty position at Marquette University and teaching assistantships at both the Medical College of Wisconsin and Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Suarez has instructed courses across the academic and socioeconomic spectrum in various subject areas, including: health psychology; clinical psychopharmacology; research methods; and disease etiology, epidemiology, treatment, and prevention. His overall commitment to a better future for all is evident in his community service, for which he was honored with a “Volunteer of the Year” Award.
Dr. Suarez returns to Tampa Bay Tech from Robinson High School. Before teaching, Dr Suarez conducted public health and pharmaceutical research/clinical trials for nearly 15 years.
